چکیده

We found that the typical fluoroquinolone antibiotic enrofloxacin (ENR) and plasticizer di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) are often detected simultaneously at high frequencies in environment, but their combined exposure effects on soil animals poorly understood. Here, oxidative stress, DNA damage changes digestibility of earthworm were investigated to reflect toxicological single DEHP ENR earthworms (Eisenia fetida). treatment group pollution showed significantly increased reactive oxygen species content 14 d 28 d. alone had little effect antioxidant enzyme system, while a trend inhibition then activation. Addition both pollutants caused rise lipid peroxidation levels earthworms. Malonaldehyde (MDA) was mainly scavenged by glutathione sulfur transferase (GST). more tissue than under regulation GST. Both inhibited digestive activity earthworms, stronger inhibitory effect. Cellulase, MDA GST three most sensitive indicators PCA. The toxicity + > according IBR index, synergistic results esters antibiotics actual environment significant ecological risk deserves special attention.

Toxicity effects of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate to Eisenia fetida at enzyme, cellular and genetic levels

Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is a dominant phthalic acid ester (PAE) that has aroused public concern due to its resistance to degradation and its toxicity as an endocrine-disrupting compound. Effects of different concentrations of DEHP on Eisenia fetida in spiked natural soil have been studied in the body of the earthworm by means of soil cultivation tests 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after expo...

Oxidative Stress, Cytotoxicity and Genotoxicity in Earthworm Eisenia fetida at Different Di-n-Butyl Phthalate Exposure Levels

Recognized as ubiquitous contaminants in soil, the environmental risk of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) is of great concern recently. Effects of di-n-butyl phthalate (DnBP), an extensively used PAE compound to Eisenia fetida have been investigated in spiked natural brown yellow soil (Alfisol) for soil contact test. The toxicity of DnBP to E. fetida on the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) act...

Oxidative stress and DNA damage in the earthworm Eisenia fetida induced by toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene.

Superoxide dismutase (SOD), guaiacol peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), and the comet assay (SCGE) were used as biomarkers to evaluate the oxidative stress and genotoxicity of toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene in earthworms (Eisenia fetida). The results indicated that the exposure of the three pollutants caused a stress response of the three enzymes, an approximate bell-shaped change (a tendency ...

Toxicity and bioaccumulation of ethofumesate enantiomers in earthworm Eisenia fetida.

Earthworms represent an important food source for many vertebrates and as a result, predators may encounter toxic effects via the food chain from consumption of contaminated worms. Therefore, including an assessment of xenobiotic to worms in risk assessment procedures is advisable. Here we studied the acute toxicity, bioaccumulation and elimination of ethofumesate enantiomers in earthworm, Eise...
